Our beloved family friend Paul came to stay with us for about a week, and not only did he take the time to have breakfast, read books, and love my kids, but he helped me upgrade my hard-drive and install it. Then he brought this gadget from his work and he took out my hard drive on my old dead mac and put every document, piece of music, and picture onto my computer. This was no easy feat, when I returned from my day in Davis, I found my old computer in a million pieces on the kitchen island. Turns out there were 42 steps to take apart my old mac and get to the hard drive. I repeat 42 steps. I could not have made it to step 3 to save my life.
So not only did he make room for extra pictures and videos on my computer, he transferred over 3,000 pictures I thought I had lost forever. My hero.
So...now I am able to look thru pictures of me teaching, backpacking, camping, pregnant and thru pictures of my first 18 months with Sir Charles, as I am now calling him.
I can finally compare pics of the kids at the same age, and do this like this:
It wasn't obvious until now that Adam does the egg dying every year. And every year he makes the same silly faces. I love it. Here they are, Charlie at 1.5 years.
And here was last year, there is Adam and his expression again. Charlie was 2.5 years.
And here Adam and Charlie are this past weekend. So funny
And now Kate (2) gets to join in on the daddy dying fun.
Looking through this photos I can see a lot has changed, and a lot has stayed the same.
This is when Charlie was 18 months and he found a musical egg during his Easter egg hunt, he set it done and immediately started rocking out. Same thing happens every time I bust out with any of my amazing Sarah Funk songs.
And here is something that has changed, while Charlie does spend easily 4-6 hours playing outside everyday, he no longer walks through gardens naked like the forrest creature he resembles in this picture (he was 2.5)
Here Charlie, Kate and their cousin Blake are early Easter morning last year. Kate has more hair now (although not much more) and has developed a cute mullet. Charlie has less hair as he finally got a big boy hair cut recently, and Blake, well, I am pretty sure Blake looks about the same as he did a year ago. Infact at the zoo a few weeks back I saw this very face every new animal he spotted....
Thank you Paul for providing a good 20 minutes of joy tonight.

I love the comparison pictures! Missed those little naked forest creatures in our backyard this year, but we had a great time with you this year in yours!
